Tips for Presentations
While panel members recognize that First Nations face many pressing issues, the panel has only a short time to examine regulatory options. If you aren't sure whether to include something, ask yourself if it will help the panel understand the issues involved in creating and running a regulatory framework for safe drinking water in First Nations communities. You may also choose to send a written submission.
Here are a few tips to help you make an effective presentation:
- Present your views in a clear, concise way and focus on regulatory options only. Given that the panel
must produce a report by August 31, the time available for each presentation is limited.
- Should you wish to use a PowerPoint or overhead projector during your presentation, please contact
the Panel Secretary. The panel would appreciate receiving copies of any slides you intend to use
before the hearing.
- Feel free to contact the Panel Secretary with questions related to the panel's work. The panel will
contact the presenters before each set of hearings.
- The day before each set of hearings starts, the Panel Secretary will be available to help finalize presentations, discuss audio-visual needs and provide other assistance.
